Guided Sacramento River Fishing
Fly Fishing
Fly fishing for wild trout on the Sacramento River offers year ’round opportunity. If the river is in shape; we are fishing! Spring and fall are typically popular times to go when trout are gorging themselves on different bug hatches in spring, or the incredible ‘egg drop’ during the fall salmon spawning. August has recently become an incredible time to fish due to the stretch of river above highway 44 in Redding being closed for 3 months. This closure has given the trout a great opportunity to bulk up in peace, and forget what a hook looks like.
Salmon Fishing
Salmon season typically runs from mid-July until mid-December. We typically fish for salmon until about the 3rd week of October when the bulk of the fall run has pushed up into the tributaries and are preparing to spawn, which is the time we transition over to trout fishing again. The best time to catch salmon on the Sacramento River or Feather River is about mid-August until mid-October.
Striper Fishing
Striper fishing typically begins around the end of March and will run into mid May, sometimes even into June depending on water and weather conditions. Trips will usually take place in the Colusa or Yuba City areas, again, depending on water and weather conditions.
Guided Trips
For all of our guided fishing trips, we provide all equipment, bait, flies, etc. Guided Sacramento River fly fishing trips include a BBQ lunch. On salmon and striper fishing trips we will fillet and package your catch for the trip home. Bring a big ice chest!
